Broken

“If you are surprised by what happened in Charlottesville, it’s because your privilege allows you to be.”

candlesI read that quote this weekend. It rings true. If you’re like me and don’t live with the everyday reality of being black in America, please listen to those who do. We must stop talking so much and hear from them. We must confess and repent of our own racism and move to stand beside our brothers and sisters.

Please listen to this: Jemar Tisby’s “The Fierce Urgency of Now: Christian Complicity with Racism and the Imperative for Immediate Action”

Don’t know where to start? Spend time reading and engaging these folks. They’re solid.
